Data Deletion Policy

JottSmart (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a mobile app that helps you generate transcripts, summaries, and action items from your meetings. JottSmart does not store meeting recordings or notes in a cloud database. Your data remains under your control.

What data JottSmart stores

  • On-device content: Transcripts, summaries, and action items generated from your meetings are stored locally on your device. These are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
  • No recordings stored: JottSmart does not store meeting audio or video recordings inside the app.
  • Analytics (limited): We collect basic, non-personal usage data (such as app opens and feature interactions) to help improve JottSmart and measure performance. Analytics data is not linked to your meeting content.

How to delete your data

1) Delete on-device content

  • Open the JottSmart app and delete any transcripts or summaries you no longer need.
  • Delete the JottSmart app to remove all locally stored app data from your device. Reinstalling the app creates a fresh instance with no previous data.
  • If you exported notes or summaries to other apps (such as Files or Notes), those copies must be deleted separately from those apps.

2) Analytics data — why individual deletion is not possible

JottSmart uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect basic, anonymous usage events such as app launches and feature interactions. This data is collected without any user identifier — no account, no device ID, and no advertiser ID (IDFA). Events are aggregated and cannot be linked back to any individual user.

Because there is no user identifier attached to any analytics event, individual deletion of analytics data is technically not possible — even by us. There is no row in a database that belongs to you, so there is nothing to find or remove.

If you would like to stop future analytics data collection, you can opt out at the iOS level:

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements and turn off Share iPhone Analytics.

3) Subscriptions & billing

Subscriptions and billing are handled by Apple. To manage or cancel a subscription, go to iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
