Quick fixes (most common)

Microphone permission not granted

  • Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and make sure JottSmart is allowed.
  • You can also check iOS Settings → JottSmart and enable Microphone access there.
  • Close and reopen JottSmart after changing permissions.

Transcript or summary did not generate

  • Check your internet connection, then try again. (Some AI processing may require network access.)
  • If the audio was too quiet or unclear, try recording closer to the speaker or in a quieter environment.
  • Close and reopen the app, then retry.

Notes look missing after reinstall

  • JottSmart stores transcripts and summaries locally on your device. Deleting the app removes local app data.
  • If you need to keep important notes, export or copy them before uninstalling.

Billing & subscriptions

Subscribe or start a trial

Open JottSmart and follow the Apple purchase sheet when prompted (plan options and trial eligibility are shown by Apple).

Manage or cancel

Go to iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Apple handles subscriptions and billing.

Restore purchases

  • Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.
  • Reopen JottSmart and check if premium features are restored automatically.
  • If your build includes a Restore Purchases button, tap it and try again.

Refunds

Apple manages refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Permissions JottSmart needs

  • Microphone: to capture audio for transcription.

JottSmart does not store meeting recordings inside the app. Transcripts and summaries are saved locally on your device.

App privacy (plain English)

  • Transcripts and summaries are stored locally on your device and are not stored in our cloud database.
  • We may collect limited, non-personal app usage analytics to improve performance and usability.
  • No IDFA / no cross-app tracking.
